Strandvallen is a medium stadium located in the city of Hällevik, Sweden. It is suitable for different kinds of sports, but currently, it is mainly used for football matches. It is the permanent home ground of Mjällby AIF, is a Swedish professional football club that was founded in 1939.
The stadium was constructed in 1953. The first major renovation at the stadium was conducted in 2002, which resulted in the increase of its capacity up to 7,500 places, 1,200 of which were seated places. From 2010 to 2010, another renovation took place, which allowed to the stadium to expand. The new North stand with 1,000 seats was constructed. 1/3 of the stand was covered by a roof. The highest attendance of 8,438 people was recorded on April 13, 1980, during the match between Mjällby AIF and Kalmar FF.
To match the requirements of the Swedish Football Association, the capacity of the stadium had to be reduced to 7,000. Before the 2012 season, the renovating of the north side allowed installing 580 seats. The entire North stand is fully covered now. Today, the stadium is capable of hosting 6,500 people. There is a pretty high fence around the ground, separating it from the other area.
