Description
Mosset Park is a stadium located in Forres, Scotland. This is the permanent home ground of Forres Mechanics F.C, which was founded in 1884. The total capacity of the stadium is 2,700 people, 502 of which are seated places. It is suitable only for football matches, and there is running track around the pitch.
The highest attendance at the stadium took place in 1957 when 7,000 people came to watch the match between Forres Mechanics and Glasgow Celtic, which resulted in the victory of the away team with the score of 5–0.
The ground was moved on a short distance toward the south, and the A96 was built around Forres. That is why the biggest in the league stand had to be demolished. Currently, there is one new stand that features only seated places. It is covered by a roof. The field is separated from the other area by a fence. The current size of the field is 106 x 69 yards.
The stadium belongs to Moray Council, and the football club rents it. Initially, they had to pay £2,500 annually for renting the ground, but in 2012, the price was increased up to £4,500.
There is Forres railway station located just about 0.5 miles from the stadium. It takes around 10-minute walk to reach the stadium from the station.
