Description

It is located in the city of Rades, The Republic of Tunisia. It is suitable for different kinds of sports, but it is mainly used by football players. There are also good athletics facilities. This is a pretty large stadium, which allows hosting around 60,000 people. The stadium was constructed in 2001 for the Mediterranean Games that were held in the same year. It is one of the best stadiums among the others located in Africa.

This is an all-seater stadium that lies on 13,000 m2. It includes central area, warm-up rooms, several adjoining grounds, as well as paintings. The main stand of the stadium features 7,000 seats.

The very first football match was played on the ground in the summer of 2001 between ES Sahel that was founded in 1925, and CS Hammam-Lif that was founded in 1944. They completed for the Tunisian Cup that was won by the latter club with a score of 1-0.

This is the venue used for a range of major football competitions. This is the permanent home ground of several football clubs, including ES Tunis, Club Africain, as well as a national football team that has been played on the ground since 2001.

In 2004, there was the African Cup of Nations held at the stadium, which ended with the victory of the Tunisian team. It also has the IAAF Class One Certificate, so the stadium matches the high standard.
