Description

Flancare Park is the former name of Strokestown Road. It is a stadium located in Longford, County Longford, Ireland. Flancare Park is the permanent home of Longford Town, a soccer club. It is also referred to as the City Calling Stadium. Flancare Park was chosen the name of ground during 2001-2013 after the stadium’s sponsor. During this period of time, there was a range of international matches held at the ground, including UEFA Cup and League Cup final.

The major redevelopment of the stadium took place in 2000–2002. Although the ground had pretty good floodlights and pitch before the renovation, it did not have good facilities, so they had to be added. The idea of the redevelopment took place in 2000 after Longford Town had been promoted to the Premier Division. As a result, Strokestown Road was redeveloped to an all-seater stadium with the total capacity of 6,850 people.

The nickname of the stadium is the Flan Siro, which is mainly used by the fans of League of Ireland.
