Description
Dansoman Park is a multi-purpose stadium located in Dansoman, Ghana. The ground is mainly used for football matches. Dansoman Park is the permanent home of Liberty Professionals FC, but it has also been used by a range of other football clubs. It is not a large stadium, which capacity is around 2,000 people. Dansoman Park used to be called Carl Reindorf Stadium after Carl Christian Reindorf, the Ghanaian historian.
Unfortunately, Liberty Professionals had to leave their home stadium for some period of time, because it did not match the high requirements to host Premier League matches. The football club had to move to the Accra sports stadium and wait until redevelopment of the stadium would be completed. Particularly, a new pitch was provided for the players. After the work was completed, the football club could return to their home ground and player their matches as usual.
When renovation works at the Accra Sports Stadium began, Dansoman Park was chosen for a range of football games. It was also considered one of the venues for the 2017-2018 Ghana Premier League due to the renovation of Accra Sports, but the Tema Stadium was chosen by the management of the Rainbow Club instead of Dansoman Park.
