Description

The Stade el-Harti is a stadium located in the city of Marrakech, Morocco. It used to be the largest stadium in the city until 2012 when Stade de Marrakech was constructed. It is suitable for different kinds of sports, but it is mainly used for athletics and football matches. It was the permanent home of Kawkab Marrakech, a local football club, but then the club moved to Stade de Marrakech, which total capacity reaches 45,000 people.

The Stade el-Harti was constructed during the time of the French protectorate. Initially, it was capable of hosting 10,000 people. For a certain period of time, the stadium was used by Kawkab Athletic Club, the largest club in the city, but it later moved to the Gregotti Associates arena. That is why the capacity of The Stade el-Harti was reduced for teams competing in the 3rd and 4th-tier competition.

The Stade El Harti is constructed from the terracotta colored stone. It has a large main covered stand. The entrance to the stadium is really beautiful, and the stairways are decorated. However, over the last several years, no renovation or sufficient maintenance took place, which resulted in missing several chunks of the arch and other damage.
