Stade Marche Verte
Stade Marche Verte (Stade de la Marche-Verte) used to be a medium stadium located in the city of Salé, Morocco. The city is situated in north-western Morocco, on the bank of the Bou Regreg river. It is a large city with the population of around 900,000 people.
Stade Marche Verte was a venue suitable for different kinds of sports, but it was mainly used by football clubs for training and matches. Also, the stadium used to be the permanent home ground of AS Salé, a local football club that was founded in 1928. In 2004, the football club became vice-champion. Currently, its permanent home ground is Stade Boubker Ammar, a stadium with the total capacity of around 10,000 people.
The total capacity of the stadium was 4,000 people. There used to be a running track around the pitch of the stadium and seats located on all sides. Some of the stadium areas were covered.
The stadium was demolished in 2006 to free the way for the river’s development project. There are a few photos of the former stadium that can be found on the Internet, particularly, on Facebook and other social media networks, but since it is not in use anymore, not much information about the ground is available.
